What is an ISBN?
The ISBN, International Standard Book Number, is a unique 10-character number that identifies a specific book, by its author, title, edition, and copyright year.

You can find the ISBN on the copyright page of your book (the page following the title page) and on the back cover just above the bar code.

Why do you need to know this?
If you are requesting permission to reuse some Cengage Learning material you must provide a valid ISBN for us to process your request. Our web request form contains a search tool which can assist you in providing us this information. You can search for an ISBN, an author last name, or a title. Successful searches will return all the information regarding our publication required to complete that section of the request form.

If you can't find the ISBN information for which you are looking through our search tool you can also search for it in the Library of Congress database.
